Last week we surprised the kids with a weekday family date to Disney on Ice Dare to Dream. This was our first time, so Liam wasn't sure what to expect, and Nora was super confused about the entire concept, but they were excited! We were invited to come to the pre-show dinner with crafts, drinks/dinner, photo booth, etc - and a surprise visit by Bell (from Beauty and the Beast).
Nora was timid to say hi to Bell by herself, so big brother went with her to meet Bell - which was very sweet. And afterwards, Nora couldn't stop talking about Bell! She was especially excited to then get to see her on the ice a bit later. Nora isn't very great at sitting through movies - so wasn't sure how she'd do with this, but she was better than any movie! She was VERY into it.
Of course her favorite was the Frozen scene, which was very exciting. I loved the Tangle scene because the performers did some freaking amazing aerial acrobatic flying (see pic below). It was really amazing. I loved, and I think Liam's favorite was Moana, which was saved for last, included real fire, and all!
A couple days later, Mimi was over asking Nora about the show - and it was so fun to see/hear her talk about it - and learn what stood out to her and what she retained. She was very passionate about the adults on top of other adults (those lift scenes) and how the beast turned into a man (by removing his costume - can't pull one over on her....). We will definitely look for more events like this in the future - it was a blast!
