I'm going to spare you - not even show you my messy cabinet with mismatched lids and multiple sizes of food storage containers. It's a disaster zone and nothing seems to ever work for what I'm specifically looking for at that time. Especially for bring my lunch to work - like if I want to eat more than one thing (because that just means then trying to find even more just-perfect plastic container), or take something more complicated, like soup or salad.
I'm trying to eat more healthfully and it's easiest to do when I bring my lunch to work - especially during the holiday season when there are so many catered lunches, happy hours, holiday parties, celebratory drinks and treats sent and so forth. At least in the in-between I can make sure I'm getting a healthy meal. I used this NEW Rubbermaid® fasten + go soup (not just for soup!) kit! I love using this food storage system for soup (seen here!), but also for salad when trying to eat lighter on the go.
I eat a variety of salads - but this one is really good, too! It's an Asian salad. The top layer of the fasten + go soup kit comes with a tray, a smaller container and larger round base (perfect for soup, but great for salad, too). I used the top tray to keep my dressing separate until I was ready to eat it. The middle container was filled with pomegranate seeds - which are really good alone, but I actually love them on salads (adds an extra crunch and burst of flavor. Each pieces fastens together and the removable strap securely allows you to carry the piece as one. Super easy to travel to and from work with!
The best part... all the pieces are BPA-free, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe. And for the sanity of my already messy container cabinet - these ones nestle together for compact storage.
