My Morning Mama/Daughter Date + Her One-of-a-Kind Toddler Style
Well, it didn't all go as planned (does it ever?), but a couple Wednesdays ago - I took the day off work and spent the morning with my little miss Nora-bean before an afternoon of appointments. She's two now, so getting more into exploring (my favorite thing to do with my littles!). I had a whole morning full of things for us to do, yet planned to remained flexible - because, you know, toddler. But I was still super bummed when the first fun thing (after Costco, of course) was a bust.
It was semi-warm, so I wanted to go run around the Nelson lawn (they have tons of outdoor sculptures and a cool glass maze), but Nora didn't want me to put her down - not even for a moment. She just buried her head into my shoulder and was.not.interested. She typically loves a big open space to run free, I'm usually panicking that she's getting too close to the street in our own yard, so of course the moment we don't have to worry about that, she's not interested. hah!
But her mood shifted completely after a trip to t.Loft for juice and to run around The Plaza, her baby in tow. She carried her baby doll alllll around, everywhere we went. She's very opinionated about this baby - and her clothing. We both love this sweet feather tunic top by Little Skye Kids Boutique - which is fun to mix with patterns, and thankfully go with the main shoes that she will actually wear these days.
Little Skye is a one-of-a-kind children’s boutique that embraces the beauty, joy, innocence, and artful wonder of childhood. And I pretty much love that. That's exactly what I want my own kids to feel when looking back on their own childhood. And sometimes, that will mean that things don't go as planned by mom (me). And I just have to be ok with that, because at the end of the day, if my kiddos are smiling and laughing - that's all the wonder I need!
