I have to travel for work on Mother's Day (don't worry, we will be able to squeeze in a morning brunch still), so a couple weeks ago, I got to have a more authentic, relaxed Sunday funday in lieu. My mom and I started the day off taking a yoga class, which is a great way to start any day, really. Then we gathered my kiddos (and Greg) for a day on the Country Club Plaza.
As mentioned last month, I wanted to try the new Zoës Kitchen on the east end of The Plaza, so we all went to enjoy a lunch on the patio. It's a great space with plenty of tables both inside and out (hello, patio weather!), nice high chairs (this is a thing for me) for the kids, and awesome food. My mom, husband and I all got the Greek Chicken Pita and it was delicious (see the full menu here).
The kids had grilled chicken and fruit from the kids menu, and because we were eating outside, were entertained long enough for us to all enjoy our own food. We also always let Liam pick out a few toys and/or book to bring with him, and this day he brought his cars. He used the grooves in the patio as streets and rolled them around on the table while we waited for the food and when he was done eating.
After lunch, we wanted to walk around a bit (let the kids run out their energy before nap time, ya know?!), so we headed to visit the newly renovated fountain on the east side of The Plaza. The kids loved it, especially Nora! She was blown away by all the water, and kept trying to climb in (I think this one is going to be my swimmer... loves water!).

My favorite place to get a great view of The Plaza is actually the top of a parking garage! (You can see this same view from last holiday season with the lights on here.) So, it's great to park at this garage, located between XXI Forever and P.F. Changs on the east end so that you can catch a glimpse of The Plaza from above. Love all the detail this area has to offer at all angles.
And for you still needing a Mother's Day gift, here are only a few of the wonderful ideas of things you can get your mama (or baby's mama) found on the Plaza:
- J.Crew has wonderful clothing, shoes and accessories to pick from for your mama. When all else fails, grab a stripe top (top left corner), because I don't think you can have too many. Right now, I'm also especially loving their summers shoe options!
- Anthropologie has way more to offer than just clothing, but accessories, shoes, home decor, etc. I always love to get something for the upcoming summer at this time - like a cute swim suit cover (bottom right corner). Great for anytime, these colorful coasters, letter initial mugs, a great clutch or new top, and lip stick holder for that mom (like me!) who loves her lipsticks.
- For the mama who has a sweet tooth, or to pick up something delicious for your Mother's Day brunch or dinner (so you don't have to bake!), Natasha's Mulberry & Mott has goodies that are as beautiful as they are yummy.
