Favorite Wears: Winter Neutrals
This time of year can be stressful trying to style so many outfits that all feel festive. You can break the bank on your own wardrobe alone, not even counting all the gifts you have to get. One of my own tricks to when I'm in a styling slump, instead of turning to buy something new, is to go neutral. It's safe, it is easy and it can still be exciting.
The key is picking neutrals with different textures and patterns. Throw two patterns into your outfit (one larger scaled print, like the plaid in my scarf and another smaller scaled print like the polka dots in my skirt) and you instantly have stepped up your game. Mix a light summer-like skirt with wool sweater, and these neutrals are anything but boring. As an additional layer of interest, I added a subtle pop of color with red in my boots and lips (lipstick is the easiest thing to swipe on to add instant color!).
I hope you don't feel like you have to go out an buy a ton of new things to get you through this holiday season, but if you do find yourself picking up a few things... keep them versatile, multipurpose, and different than anything you already own (you don't need 5 black crew neck sweaters).
What are some ways you style neutrals?
