The NYE that is not happening
It's been 4 years since I've gone all out for NYE... with the limo, champagne, all dressed up with big plans and a great group of friends. While those nights were fun and the memories grand, these days I have no desire to shell out the bucks, nor start the new year with a headache*.
These last couple years my NYEs has been pretty low key, sometimes with good friends, always with my husband and now a new tradition (as of last year) of being with our baby. While this year I will not be living the evening in the photos above (no matter how much I'd love to wear my sequins), I'll be looking forward to the events I have in 2013 that will surely paint a similar picture (like the many weddings I have upcoming and celebratory gatherings with friends).
This NYE will be about reflecting, spending the time with loved ones and getting a head start of some resolutions (though I hate the pressure that word brings, tune in tomorrow for my thought out list). So this year? I have a hot date with my two boys, my best sweats and a little champagne to ring in the next exciting chapter (which will likely start at 11pm for me, as I'm not sure I'll be able to stay awake until midnight - I know, I'm so lame).
(*though if you are one that is living NYE up the good ol' fashion way, live it up and enjoy (safely). You never know when you may not be up for it any more...)
Happy New Year's to you all! I hope whatever you are doing, you start 2013 off in your happy face. Cheers to a fresh beginning. xox
