{Poncho -H&M/Gift; Lace Tunic - Anthropologie; Jeans - Gap Maternity; Yellow Flats - Old Navy; Necklace - won from SimplyLivly}
My sister, who is lucky enough to live in Chicago and surrounded by great stores like H&M, picked me up this cozy, tribal print poncho (or is it a cape?) as an early birthday gift! I have been wearing it pretty much ever since. It's great to wear around the house in this chilly weather, too!
Another great thing about this poncho - it has some purple in it! Did you know that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month? Suze at Miss Vinyl Ahoy had the great foresight to help organize a blogger support day where we wear purple and provide a little info in support.
Domestic Violence Awareness:
1 in 3 families are affected by domestic violence. Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behaviors — physical, sexual, psychological, and economic coercion — used by one intimate partner against another (adult or adolescent) to gain, maintain, or regain power and control in the relationship. Batterers use of a range of tactics to frighten, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, humiliate, blame, often injure, and sometimes kill a current or former intimate partner.
